We love us some Fantasia. Lord knows we do. That's why the lengthy wait since her last project, 2016's The Definition Of..., had us feenin' like Jodeci. Thankfully, she didn't keep us waiting for too long. In fact, it looks like she's been in the studio cooking up her next project. To that effect, she's generating some buzz with her romantic new single and video "Enough."
Fanny takes us back for the track, channeling a time when power ballads dominated the charts. Soft backing vocals, synth keys and drums set up the song's framework while a buzzing electric guitar adds a bit of unexpected edge to the proceedings. Fantasia, meanwhile, sings like a woman in love as she sings of finding real love. "I can't get enough 'cause I need you baby, baby, by my side / You can give me your time / And I'll always ask for more / 'Cause forever just ain't long enough," she sings on the chorus.
The Derek Blanks-directed video is also a throwback of sorts. The black-and-white clip shows the singer arriving to her show, a crowd of fans waiting on her as soon as she steps out of her limo. We're then taken backstage and given the audience's perspective as she works the crowd while performing the track. But the vintage feel of the video isn't complete until we see our girl and her sexy leading man dancing in the rain to the song's sultry strains.
