Having bad days are a fact of life. Every day isn't sunshine, moonlight, good times and boogie. Sometimes you just want to stay blue and not be bothered with any other colors. Yet and still, even in the midst of feeling down, you may want someone – anyone – to care about your well-being and to let you know that everything's gonna be alright. British singer Gabriela Eva feels you and puts those feelings to music in her new single "HEY!"
Over an upbeat sound bed of percussion, synths, bass and guitar, Gabriela emotes about needing empathy. Despite its happy-go-lucky sound, she has some things to get off her chest on the chorus. "I said hey, today is not my day / I feel like running away / I can't remember the last time / Someone asked if I was OK," she sings in lyrics we can all relate to. By the end of the song, though, she's feeling much better and changes the chorus after the bridge to reflect her new outlook. "I said hey, things have come my way / I feel like hugging the day / I like to remember the good times / I keep it on replay." And just like that, it's a brand new day for Gabriela and she is feeling as groovy as the music.
