Dressed in a dapper red suit, Anderson and his merry band the Free Nationals accented by a four-piece, all-female string section and two background singers serenaded the audience with the soulful jam from Ventura. Anderson was all in his soul singer bag, delivering a fine live performance that was smoother than silk. After setting the tone, .Paak introduced Mr. Robinson who strode out on Jimmy Kimmel's stage in a spiffy gray suit to show the young whippersnapper how it's done. Smokey sang portions of the second verse, making the song into more of a true duet and harmonizing at times with Anderson. The finale of the song found .Paak contributing some hilarious ad-libs while Smoke repeated the chorus. They ended their set with a hug to raucous applause.
