Jacob Collier, Kimbra & Tank And The Bangas Deliver The Funk 'In My Bones'

What do get when you cross equal part of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" and Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer?" The answer comes in the form of Jacob Collier's latest video, "In My Bones."

In the colorfully creative video, Collier taps Kimbra and Tank and the Bangas to join him on this weird and funky ride. There are dancing skeletons, a reference to the classic Operation game, sock hand puppets and a rapping Tarriona "Tank" Ball coming live and direct from a robot's monitor. Yet just like its equally quirky predecessors, "In My Bones" works, driven by the Collier and Kimbra's frenetic performances and a smoking bassline courtesy of MonoNeon. Even with so much going on, it is still Collier's layered vocals that remain front and center, perfectly riding the off-kilter synths in the background.

"In My Bones" is the second single from Collier's upcoming studio album, Djesse, Vol. 3, due out soon. The album marks the third installment from his four-part series. If it is anything like 2018's Djesse, Vol. 1 and 2019's Djesse, Vol. 2, more accolades are on the horizon for the young Brit; both volumes earned him back-to-back GRAMMYs. Blast off with his latest and buckle up for this trippy ride.
