Dinah Jane is definitely in a mood. The last time we checked in with the singer, she was inviting us back to her room for a nightcap on her single "1501." It seems like getting a little lovin' is on her mind during these isolated times (and, honestly, we're probably all feeling the same way). Dinah returns to the scene to drop off her latest sexy single "Missed A Spot."
"Missed A Spot" is interesting all the way around. For starters, the track samples Men At Work's "Down Under." It's not exactly the first thing we'd think to sample when trying to make a steamy track, but Dinah makes it work for her. Producer J.R. Rotem marries the '80s track with trap-meets-R&B to create the song's groove. It's Dinah Jane, however, that really makes thing work. While she's all come-ons and teases on the verses, she's much more forward on the chorus. "I know you love it when you go down under / Rain fallin', yeah, we makin' thunder / Findin' shelter underneath these covers / I'ma love ya 'til the end of summer," she sings on the chorus.
Those of us who don't happen to have a quarantine bae are probably missing the absence of physical touch in our lives. "Missed A Spot," while not necessarily deep content-wise, might just allow you to live through Dinah Jane's own fantasy. Check out both the song and a cute lyric video for the track that is reminiscent of The Sims when you press play on both below.
