Cecily Is Careful Not Be 'Clumsy' With Love

Around this time last summer, we were celebrating with our girl Cecily as she released her incredible EP Awakening, Pt. 1. While we patiently await the follow-up project, the gifted singer-songwriter has been using her talents to help keep us calm and centered during this pandemic. From her stunning short film, The Visual EP,  to offering fans affirmations and quarantine concerts to uplift the soul, Cecily hasn't let 2020 stop her creative stride. So it's fitting that she marked the one-year anniversary of the EP with a new video for "Clumsy," the song that started it all.

Torell Shavone, the auteur behind The Visual EP, reclaims her seat in the director's chair to offer an alternate view of the intimate song. We're loving the '70s vibe, complete with luscious afros and silky fashions. But the real star is #BlackLove. As Cecily sings about her "awakening to love" and shares the lessons she's learned along the way, we can't help but smile at the chemistry between she and Dale Deberry. Another couple, along with some sister friends, helps bring this lovefest full circle as Cecily encourages us to choose love over fear.

The knowledge continues on Instagram as the singer warns, "Be careful with his heart, sis. Men need just as much care, patience, compassion and gentleness. We all need it, and we can all offer it. Let’s not be clumsy with each other’s hearts. #noentanglements." Watch the visuals below and spread the love by sharing "Clumsy" with all the music lovers in your circle.
