Ricky Reed Teams Up With Leon Bridges & Kiana Ledé For 'Better'

If there’s one thing The Rona has taught us, it’s to cherish the simple things and the ones we love most. Whether it’s a job, school or just the hustle and bustle of life, quality time to just be still used to be few and far between. Now that we all have a moment to sit down, we can focus and appreciate the things that truly matter. Another bright side of being forced into quarantine is that the isolation has gotten the creative juices of many artists flowing. Such is the case for producer Ricky Reed, who captures the “silver lining of this tough year” on his latest single “Better.”

"Better" features Leon Bridges and Kiana Ledé and explores how their rise to stardom has simultaneously taken them away from and affected their relationships with their loved ones. The Jai Moseley-directed visual captures the nostalgia of family backyard BBQs and the simple things like relaxing on the porch or living room of your childhood home.

This latest offering, co-produced with Nate Mercereau, marks the third single from Reed’s forthcoming debut solo album, The Room. The track follows "Us (How Sweet It Is)" with Jim James and Duendita and "Real Magic," his vibrant collaboration with Terrace Martin and St. Panther. Fans were treated to the creation of the latter single in real-time as part of his Nice Live! series on YouTube. What started as a “mental health exercise for me to keep from going crazy” soon turned into something much bigger, with several artists reaching out to collaborate. The result is a 10-track album with an impressive list of features including Malaya, Alessia Cara and Ayoni.
