R&B’s criminally underrated secret weapon Xavier Omär is getting ready to release another sonic opus, if You Feel, on October 23rd. In anticipation of this new project, he’s already shared the lead single "So Much More," and he keeps it laid-back on his latest single, “All Our Time” featuring Jae Stephens.
“All Our Time” is a chill kickback track for everyone who misses spending time with family, friends and that special someone. It's particularly relevant now that reaching out and touching someone is so hard with ‘Rona out here wreaking havoc. Of the track, Xavier shared via press release, "I wrote this song at a time where I was thinking back over my youth and the days all of my friends and I were free to just be together and enjoy our friendship. I’ve missed that as we’ve grown up and especially now during what’s supposed to be a quarantine." The nostalgic vibes come through loud in clear on the breezy track. Xavier and Jae trade verses like sips out of red Solo cups, sharing their own experiences of youth and unadulterated freedom.
Xavier has also shared an equally charming lyric video for "All Our Time." In the clip, Xavier, his wife (who we met in "So Much More" video) and his tribe of friends are seen zipping around the city on scooterboards or in their whips, chilling in the park, stopping for ice cream, kicking it on tennis courts and just spending quality time with each other while the lyrics flash across the screen. Of course, no summertime fun is complete without a water gun fight, and Xavier and his crew have quite the battle royale. In between their little moments of nothingness that mean everything, they bond as friends do and keep it safe while wearing face masks – 2020's most popular accessory.
Xavier Omär’s if You Feel is building up to be quite the sonic experience, with the 11-track LP including appearances from Masego, Mareba and Quinn Barlow. Listen to “All Our Time” and peep lyric video below then keep scrolling for if You Feel's tracklist.
