Jazmine Sullivan Brings Her 'Heaux Tales' To NPR Music's 'Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts' Series

Jazmine Sullivan has always had no problem keeping it real. However, when it comes to her latest effort Heaux Tales, the singer keeps it real on a whole new level as she sings about the situations one can find themselves in when it comes to love and sex. In celebration of the EP's release, Jazmine paid a visit to NPR Music's Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts series to perform a selection of tracks from the project and give a couple of surprises.

Jazmine started things appropriately with the EP's intro "Bodies," setting the mood and the tone with a few sweetly sung expletives that let you know it was a performance meant for the grown folks. She then took us to "The Other Side" as she offered the track which finds her trying to figure out her life while making a wish for something better. "Lost One" followed, with the emotional track striking a somber chord. Jazzy wasn't just focused on her current EP, though. She took us back to her Reality Show days by trotting out her hit single "Let It Burn," dancing around the stage as she sang the joyous track about letting love take over. To close the set, H.E.R. joined the singer-songwriter for their collaboration from the EP "Girl Like Me." She sat alongside Jazmine while strumming a guitar as the two lamented the many slights that can make a good girl decide to turn from potential housewife into...well, you know.

Jazmine Sullivan never disappoints when it comes to a live showing and she once again showed us during this set. Get your recommended dose of her undeniable talent when you press play below.
