Kelly Price Invites You To Praise & Worship At Her 'Dance Party'

Dancing has long been a cure for the worries of the world, helping us to let our hair down and lift our spirits through movement. Another balm for weary souls is gospel music, with inspirational messages set to music. Singer, songwriter, actress and R&B diva Kelly Price brings both of these elements together for her new single “Dance Party.”

“Dance Party” is an uptempo track about finding joy in the midst of pain because you know God has your back. And when it comes from a voice like Kelly Price, well, you feel that message deep, deep, deep in your soul. "When complications try to take me down / And aggravation has me losing ground / I hear a voice it's deep inside my soul / It lets me know that God is in control,” she belts. When she gets to the chorus, she incorporates the cadence of the chorus of the gospel song "I Gotta Praise" as she sings, "I wanna dance, I wanna dance and I'm gonna do it now." The production is more on the generic disco side, but things get interesting on the bridge, where the added handclaps and foot stomps truly take us to church.

“Dance Party” will be featured on Kelly Price’s upcoming gospel EP, GRACE, due out April 2nd. This project comes 15 years after Kelly’s acclaimed gospel album, This Is Who I Am. It also comes after a year of struggles – losing her grandfather early in the 2020 pandemic and closing the year out with the unexpected passing of her mother. The result is a story of joy, pain, love and loss. GRACE is expected to be one of Price’s most inspirational and moving projects to date.
