DUCKWRTH Delivers A 'SuperGood' Performance For NPR Music's 'Tiny Desk Meets SXSW'

DUCKWRTH came strong last year with the release of his major label debut SuperGood. The set featured some undeniable jams — including "Quick," "Find A Way" and "Coming Closer." Sadly, because of the pandemic, he wasn't able to put proper promotion behind it with a tour. He makes up for that a bit with a recent performance he give for NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts series as part of their Tiny Desk Meets SXSW collaboration with the famed Texas music festival.

The rapper/singer was in fine form for the set, dropping two songs from the album along with two brand-new tracks for the audience. He opened up with a more mellow version of SuperGood track "Kiss U Right Now," slowing things down a bit to make the track seem even more steamy and romantic as he and the backing vocalists harmonize over the hypnotizing groove. The artist then gave the audience a two-fer of brand new tracks. First up was "make u go," a sexy track well-suited for a late night rendezvous as he proposes a secret liaison that will make your toes curl. That soulful bit of freaky is followed by "Birthday Suit," a funky groove about getting close while being au naturel (with him even proposing that his girl show it all off while in public). After showing us what's in store, he brings it back to the present with title track "Super Good." Yet another romantic joint, the feel-good vibes of this is a perfect closer as he sings about a love that he can't live without.

While we can't wait to hear what else DUCKWRTH has up his stylish sleeves, we're just glad to see him do his thing on a stage and look forward to doing it in person one day. Get into his Tiny Desk Meets SXSW performance when you press play.
