It may be April 1st, but we're not in the mood to suffer any fools after the year we've endured. We're mostly interested in good vibes and good music these days. Lucky for us, IAMNOBODI has just what we need. The producer has linked with our main man Phonte and singer BeMyFiasco for brand-new cut "Let It Roll" and today he's sharing it with the class.
"Let It Roll" is perhaps one of IAMNOBODI's smoothest productions, with a steady pace set by the drums and soothing production that revolves around a distorted vocal sample. It's a sound bed that gives plenty of space for the song to breathe. It also allows for the featured guests to do what they do best. BeMyFiasco's harmonies are what we here first, but it's Phonte's that cut straight to the foreground. The rapper/singer is in fine form as he touches on everything from his beard to the type of smoothie he likes. He also flexes his clever wordplay ("they spit with Karen struggle / I spit with Sheila ease") while riding the beat calmly and correctly. BeMyFiasco then finishes off the track with layered harmonies and ad-libs, keeping us coasting until the final note.
If you're observant, you might have noticed that "Let It Roll" is labeled an interlude. IAMNOBODI hasn't specified what exactly it's an interlude for, but we'll be keeping an eye out for what he's got next. In the meantime, sit back, relax and jam to his latest.
