A Soulful Noise
In Anticipation of That New Dwele
Singer, songwriter, rapper, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Dwele should be releasing a new album on Koch this spring, as in, he's been working on some things. Details bandied about in his interview with the Detroit Free Press are as follows:
- The release could include a bonus DVD of live performances.
- The first single is "I'm Cheating" produced by G-One.
- No official album title as of yet.
- The vibe follows the spirit of his other releases but will be seasoned with different sounds and guest producers.
Dwele is nominated for a Grammy for his remake of Earth, Wind and Fire's "That's the Way of the World" from Interpretations. He's also recently been featured on celebrated, above-the-radar albums by Kanye West and Common. In anticipation of his forthcoming release (and maybe in response to the madness that unfolded last week), I provide for you a few joints that maybe represent a decent cross-section of his sound.
"Hold On (Remix)" ft. Kanye West & Consequence
