When Faith Was Still A Bad Girl
I must admit, after a successful start to the month of March Diggin' in the Crates, I'd been looking for something else to do in honor of Women's History Month.
Well, thanks to SoulBounce's HNIC, I've found my next project. That's right! For the rest of the month, we'll be unearthing early (historic, even) interviews with some of today's hottest R&B females.
First up is a "vintage" Faith Evans interview that aired just before her 1995 debut album Faith dropped on Bad Boy. Your interviewers? None other than BET's finest: Ananda Lewis and Prince Dajour. (I know, it took me back, too.)
There's so much going on in this video, and if you can get past the various wardrobe malfunctions, peep what Faith has to say on everything from marriage to her relationship with then-sistagirl Mary J. Blige. Very interesting.
Check it out below.

gifted1 | March 26, 2008 3:03 AM | PermalinkYa know Faith & Mary are like the female R&B Jay-Z & Nas both are gifted and talented & truthfully I'd rather hear a Faith/Mary Album than a Jay-Z/Mary one...oh well I can always dream! R.I.P. B.I.G.
mrdk910 | March 18, 2008 3:03 AM | PermalinkIndeed, this brought back memories. Freshman/sophomore year of college, playing "Faith" repeatedly.
Made me think of BET when it was about something. Made me miss Big...and Craig Mack.
I was listening to "Maybe" tonight and I'm so ready for the new one to drop.
Good concept Harlem. Looking forward to what you dig up.
Vivrant Thang | March 18, 2008 12:17 AM | PermalinkWow this was a very good interview, and Faith was making a lot of sense.

Sharonda | March 17, 2008 7:16 PM | PermalinkWhy'd you have to go and bring it back like that?
