#95: SWV 'Weak'
What would our countdown be without one of SWV's best-loved if not known classics? "Weak" was sweet, melodic and no one knew the words! I can submit that most of us back then just made up the chorus as we went along and it didn't really matter, because it was the sh**. SWV remains the girl group that invokes the most nostalgia and prayers for a comeback, more than Total, Xscape, Jade or any others (but we love them too). If you still don't know the words seventeen years later, here you go:
I get so weak in the knees I can hardly speak.
I lose all control and something takes over me.
In a daze and it's so amazing, it's not a phase.
I want you to stay with me, by my side.
I swallow my pride, your love is so sweet.
It knocks me right off of my feet.
I can't explain why your loving makes me weak.

CC | April 8, 2008 11:07 AM | PermalinkNow that was amazing. Had not heard it in a while so thanks for posting it. It is so unfortunate there are very very few REAL SINGERS making records like SWV these days.
Peace
SonDan | April 8, 2008 12:22 AM | PermalinkThis song reminds of a hot-n-humid summer, fan blowing from the window, licking on a $0.25 Kool Aid freezy from the Candy lady, and thinking about a crush from high school. Ahh...memories...
LoLo B | April 7, 2008 11:08 PM | PermalinkLOVE SWV!Let me rephrase I stan their music!I love this song.Who couldn't relate?Much respect to SB!
Sharonda | April 7, 2008 8:59 PM | PermalinkDefinitely list-worthy. SWV had a nice lil string of hits, this being one of their best. You couldn't turn on The Box without seeing the video every 5 minutes, or walk down the hallways of my junior high school without hearing every Coko wannabe singing the words all loud and wrong. lol I can't believe it's been 17 years. Wow.
SoulStar | April 7, 2008 6:12 PM | PermalinkThey killed it on this track.
danielle | April 7, 2008 5:26 PM | PermalinkOmg I remember those looong nails...
Aww yea aww yea! Definitely had to be on the list. We all became songwriters on this one.
LMAO@ if you don't know the words 17 years later! You know there are some folx reading real closely.
Wait....17 years! I'm officially old.
