A Soulful Noise, Video SoulBounce
Behind-The-Scenes of New Al Green & Questlove Project
Al Green's forthcoming album, Lay It Down, is due soon, and I don't think I'm the only person absolutely feening for it! I wasn't surprised to hear that Questlove would be producing the album, since he's served as musical director for D'Angelo's "Voodoo Tour" and Jay-Z's "Fade To Black" tour, but I now know the genius housed under that afro of his. It truly takes a person who understands the organic nature of soul music to be able to produce the great Al Green and have it sound as authentic as it did at the height of Green's heyday. This documentary-style clip lets you in on the creative wonders at work and includes appearances by Corinne Bailey Rae, The Dap Kings, and James Poyser. Al and John Legend's song, "By The Sea" sounds simply magical, while Al and Anthony Hamilton's duet "You've Got The Love I Need" sounds like a match made in heaven. We'll be counting down the days until May 27th, when Lay It Down finally drops.Tags: al green, anthony hamilton, corrine bailey rae, dap kings, james poyser, john legend, questlove
