Gap Band, Chi-Lites 'Inappropriate' After 9/11 Attacks

When it comes to enterprises like Clear Channel and Wikimedia, who do you trust the most? So far, the alledged List of songs deemed inappropriate by Clear Channel Post-9/11 has received over 1,300 diggs, catapulting it into our inbox. The existence of such a list had been debated, then confirmed supposedly by Hits Daily Double. The list itself is mostly compiled of Rock classics with "questionable lyrics", such as AC/DC's "Safe in New York City" and Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust". But there are a few songs on there that have us scratching our heads. The Chi-Lites' "Have You Seen Her", Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" and Sinatra's "New York, New York" might be too sentimental, but certainly not inappropriate due to lyrical content. Suggesting that a song not be played because it's offensive is one thing, but including songs that invoke bittersweet nostalgia blurs the lines more than a little. The Gap Band's "You Dropped a Bomb", we totally understand. The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy" ("Blow up like the World Trade") is nowhere to be found. [Wiki via Digg]
