I'm Trying to 'Stay Down', Mary. I Truly Am.
Mary J. Blige is back in front of the camera with a clip for one of my least favorite songs from Growing Pains. "Stay Down" sees The Queen singing in the middle of isolated, snowy plains, rocking a different hairstyle or fur depending on the scene, all intercut with rolling footage of snowcapped mountains. I'm pretty sure it took them exactly twenty minutes to do this but I'll forgive her. She's on tour. Oh, I'll also forgive being mislead during the whole "choose Mary's next single" debacle, which resulted in a song that didn't even rank the highest, and also wasn't "Stay Down". alright...no offense to mary fans but she has become so predictable and stale. im proud of her for crossing over in to mainstream ( i think) but at what cost? she is no where near the My Life mary...sure she had a shit load of problems then but damn...it seems to me she has lost the realness/passion/hunger that made me dig her back then.
and who dresses her? she does ok some of the time but most times she looks that 99 cent barbie from back in the day that was over dressed in loud,cheap looking clothes.
