Erykah Badu's 'Real Thang' Gets Remixed
For those of you unaware, Erykah Badu's "Real Thang" was the basis of a contest to prove which producers in fact have the "real thing." That is, who can provide the beats suitable for the sheer force that is Erykah's voice on the acapella Madlib-produced track. Though the contest ended last month, a winner has yet to be announced. We at SoulBounce, however, got our hands on one of the entries for submission. SSP Soundz who hails from Orlando, Florida has set Erykah's vocals over a catchy Afrobeat track with James Brown in the background urging you to "clap your hands" and "stomp your feet." We're not sure if this track will win, but it's definitely something that we'll be bumping for a while.
