Looking Back
Wrapping This Week's Soul Candy

- Latonya Blige brought us to Jesus in her own way.
- Stevie Wonder liked to tease.
- Keri Hilson made her first and probably last appearance on SoulBounce.
- Ditto for Ashanti, if I have anything to say about it.
- Nas didn't appreciate being called "Toby".
- We wished Gladys Happy Birthday!
- If you thought you were pissed now, wait 'til you see the Top 10.
FEEDBACK OF THE WEEK: In order to elevate the discourse around here, we decided to highlight some of the best and worst comments over the past week by awarding them. The Gold Star Award will go to comments that are insanely funny, intelligent or do much to drive the thread forward.
We didn't have any of those this week.
But major props to the commenters that came out in support of Usher defending his woman. It filled my heart with so much pride to see that our readers truly have their heads on straight. Even the minor scuffle that broke out entertained me. Thoroughly. Especially since I wasn't a part of it.
The Silver Side-Eye will be for comments that have us scratching our heads, as we're sure the commenter must be leaving it on the wrong site. It's all in good fun, so don't be mad if you catch it! Although the following comment isn't that bad, it's skating towards being a fantastic example.
twistedmind on More 'Flashing Lights' From Kanye, But Still No Dwele:
I love the first one. This one sucks. You have to be a complete idiot if you didnt get the first one. Why does every single thing has to be spelled out to you morons!!!! That is what's wrong with society... no one has the ability to think anymore! We're not 100% certain who this comment is directed at, all morons considered, but it's a bit too ranty and maybe a little rude for our tastes. It's not that we expect some kind of Socratic dialogue to unfold in the feedback. This is, after all, a music blog, so the topics are usually quite trivial. Whatever modicum of wit or intelligence injected into this site could end with the editors alone and our mission to become The All-Supreme Black Music Blog To Lay The Smackdown On All You Bammas would be fulfilled. However, this comment in particular is all kinds of "WTF." Relax. Relate. Release. And then we have--
khalid on #58: Sam Cooke 'A Change Is Gonna Come':
I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW 'IF YOU DON'T KNOW ME BY NOW' AND ' A CHANGE IS GONNA COME' ARE NOT IN THE TOP 20.We really don't understand why you haven't gotten your caps lock fixed, Shouty.
Enjoy the Sex this weekend! I know I will!
