Memo to John McWhorter: The premise of your latest book, All About the Beat: Why Hip-Hop Can't Save Black America, is about to be shattered. It turns out that not only are certain conscious rappers political within their communities, they are actually encouraging young people to vote as well. Immortal Technique will be doing just that as he, in combination with Fat Beats record store, will have a voter registration booth as part of the in-store record release party on June 23rd for his latest album, The 3rd World.
