N*E*R*D Gives Up The Goods
After hearing the snippets from N*E*R*D's soon-to-be-released album, Seeing Sounds, I was left hungry for more of the band's spaced-out funk-pop-rock sounds. One of my favorite songs, "You Know What," has been released from the album which will leave N*E*R*D fans letting out a collective "ahhh," although this N*E*R*D fan will still be rabid for the album in its entirety until its in my hands. And you know what else? Apparently, Idle Warship's Res recorded the original. Props to 2 Dope Boyz for putting us on to this.

I can't listen to the song now, but are you saying this record is sounding like St. Elsewhere/The Odd Couple??? I wouldn't really put Gnarls and N.E.R.D. in the same category... I mean, to me (given comparison of their first two LPs), they are both on different levels of spaced-out-ism. LOL. Gnarls is more operatic and soulful thanks to Ceelo's voice while N.E.R.D. is more rock, rap, electronic, machine, factory, Nintendo-influenced, Sega-jacking, ecstasy and LSD induced, mission-to-Mars completed, robotic, etc. etc. LOL.
I haven't been keep up with my N.E.R.D. like I should. I have the first album and I still wear it out years later, but I need to buy the sophomore release and now this one.
Madame Zenobia | June 6, 2008 10:23 AM | PermalinkMami, I bet you a designer coffee of your choice this new nerd album goes wood; i.e it wont be worth the paper it's printed on. Gnarls B has got this sort of music on lock, I mean back in the day nerd sounded fresh and clean but now, not so much:)
