Full disclosure: I am a treasure trove of random 80's pop songs. Everything from Journey, Fleetwood Mack pre- and post-Stevie Nicks' departure, The Police, Billy Idol and everything in between I could sing verbatim at the drop of a hat. Needless to say, it makes karaoke at my house lots of fun. Luckily for true 80's babies like myself, we are not alone. Detroit producer Zo! and Little Brother's Phonte a/k/a/ Phontigallo have teamed up for Zo! & Tigallo Love the 80's!, an homage to all the songs us kids heard when MTV actually played videos. Your first response will likely be one of absolute astonishment as you giggle hard enough to realize that both Zo! and Phonte are dead serious with these songs' production. My anticipation for this project to drop is only rivaled by my desire to find out who will be number one on our countdown. Do your best to remember the creators of the original songs below.

As an unabashed stan of 80s pop and rock music (I was a HARD CORE Durannie), I think this project is going to fly off the shelves from the 30 and 40-somethings who grew up on this music. Anybody got the full playlist of tracks from this joint? If they redo The Reflex, I may just lose my mind. LOL
And...for curiosity's sake, are they getting official clearances for all of these tunes or will this be an underground white label type thang?
IAM dancing with you IllMami!

Butta, I had to go back to the batcave and pull my red clay chronicles CD and found that he did a remake of something about you:) and yes it is banging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm just waiting on my main man "Percy Miracles" aka Phonte to flip it:)
To be totally 100...I think 80's Pop is my favorite type of music. My I Pod is FULL of it and I get the most enjoyment when I listen to it and its more than just nostalgia Hate to say it but 80's Pop smoked a lot of 80's R&B

Yo Stoney, Anthony David already got you covered on that Level 42 remake action. His most lovely version of "Something About You" will be released on Acey Duecy next Tuesday. Cheah!
OMG! I love ToTo and A-Ha. I remember seeing "Take On Me" for the 1st time. The video was ground breaking and the falsetto on the lead w/unreal. "Africa" is a favorite of mine from ToTo.
You know, they did alright by the originals. I especially like the instrumentation on "Africa". "Take On Me" is harder because I found myself giggling at the stretch to reach that falsetto.

Damn! I cannot wait til this shit drops.
