Is About.com's List of the 'Best Rap Albums of the 90s' Random, or Just Common Sense?

illmatic.jpgAlthough some of you out there may not like it, we talk about Hip Hop here at SoulBounce. There will probably never come a day that we won't. That being said, I happened upon About.com's Best Rap Albums of the 90s via DIGG, and thought it would be a great discussion piece. Mainly because, although there are the obvious can't-do-without choices like Illmatic, Ready to Die, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Things Fall Apart, I find myself scratching my head at the inclusion of Missy's Da Real World. Huh? The Slim Shady LP? (Eminem was super-annoying before he got good) CNN's War Report? (Which, I happened to like but it was by no means a "best" anything.) The write-ups for each album are extremely brief with purchase links, so methinks this was more or less meant to be a revenue-generating SEO kinda thing, as opposed to a dense analysis. But we've got to give 'em props for including Main Source, Jeru, and Souls of Mischief. [About]

side eye from me on the Missy joint as well.....her first album Supa Dupa Fly shouldve been on there before THAT one....

Ok, *side eye* @ Missy Da Real World

I'm on record as saying I hate this modern day hip hop BUT back in the early 90's when I was younger, Snoops first album Doggystyle was hands down the best album followed by Heavy D & the boyz Big Tyme and Father MC's Close to you. At least I think all of these were released in the 90's:) I selected these 3 because track for track there no fillers on these albums, you never had to fast forward like you do now a days. If you geta chance pull these 3 albums and take a quick listen............Oh yeah no disrespect to my main man BIG who was the best to EVER do it.
