Erykah Badu will be appearing with guitarist
Doyle Bramhall II on a blues compilation album being released next week called
A Brief History of the Blues.
According to MTV, their collaboration on the
Charlie Patton song "Oh Death" is "smoky and soulful." The two have worked together before, joining
?uestlove and
Wendy and Lisa as a part the band
Funky Sway. If you've been sopping up the gravy that is
New Amerykah Part One (4th World War)
like I have--and are eagerly awaiting the second course--this taste
seems like it could sustain until part two is heaped upon our plates
later this year.
A Brief History of the Blues will be available on August 26th and also includes performances by
Bessie Smith,
Muddy Waters and
Otis Rush among others.
