John Legend & Andre 3000 Party On In 'Green Light' Video
I professed my love for John Legend's "Green Light" months ago, and the video featuring the crooner and Andre 3000 is finally here. But do I love the video? Actually, not so much. I mean, it's not bad, but if I see one more video of a party scene filled with mystery meat women and strategically placed bottles of liquor, I'm gonna scream. The beginning, with a frustrated John Legend slamming his piano shut after singing "Ordinary People" for what I assume to be the gazillionth time was cute, but then the video quickly slipped into been-there-done-that territory only to get interesting again around the three-minute mark thanks to a routine from Andre 3000 and some dancers in a cocktail glass. And I don't know about anybody else, but I was seriously wishing for John Legend to join the party people and shake his money maker. Maybe next time, John--that goes for the dancing and making a truly cutting edge video.Tags: andre 3000, john legend

Andre Benjamin would have to have a HUGE faux pas to get me to say one bad word about him. LOVE LOVE LOVE him! And the song is mad cute. I don't have cable, so thankfully I miss MOST videos - which is no big loss, believe me.
But don't hold your breath to see JL dancing, at any time, at any point. Let's just say that it's NOT his forte. LOL

hdothef | August 25, 2008 3:09 PM | Permalink...l what I don't get is why JL would slam the piano after singing "Ordinary People" (for which he won a grammy)! To me, that is an insult to himself. Dude what were you thinking? Don't burn the bridge that brought you over!

Bianca | August 24, 2008 9:39 PM | PermalinkI watched the video to see Andre's dimples and nothing else.
Stealing "mystery meat".
Except for the small part with the cocktail glass, this music video (and song) is straight up mundane trash. If you're going to make a stupid club/party video, which has already been done a million times before, then be creative with it. There's no way I'm buying John's next album. His last one was trash and so is this song, so... have fun selling out to some other target audience!
Nate | August 23, 2008 10:30 AM | Permalinkyeah, this does seem like an extended version of his Bailey's commercial. and how Estelle didn't have more time on the screen? she could have played one of the lead roles...
DLS77 | August 22, 2008 10:57 PM | Permalink"mystery meat" lol
AshBash | August 22, 2008 9:28 PM | PermalinkLove it! (the saying, not the video)
Nothing special about this...except Andre 3000's interesting dance moves.
