The Long, Tortured History of Bad Boy Signees, by Maronzio Vance

This is a damn shame. Even though we've all had this conversation in barbershops, blogs, and on front porches getting wasted, it still isn't any less true. At this point, anyone tripping over themselves to be an artist on Bad Boy Records probably deserves what's coming to them. Maronzio Vance breaks it down, between the artists with talent that are now nowhere to be found, those that had careers outside of Bad Boy that were deaded as soon as they made the switch, and all the questionable signings that happened as a result of reality TV. Is there anyone that made it out of that label alive with money and a solid career? Perhaps this was filmed as a cautionary warning to Janelle Monae. [Myspace]

Everything he said was soooooo true. Everyone knows it but doesn't say it out loud. Puffy is deadly! Lol.....

First of all, the dude's name is Maronzio, so you really can't expect anything BUT comedy. :)

But THAT was classic. I needed that today!

I am at my desk crying laughing.... everything that brotha said is soooooo true.

Yeah, where is Total?Carl Thomas Emotional was the ish though..

But this ish is funny and true.

Lol @I'm sorry to hear that.Looord!

LMFAO! SO Funny and SO True!

Oh, so sad. I was concerned at first for my girl Janelle monae, but she ALREADY was a star LONG before doing business with badboy. She has her own recording label The Wondaland Arts Society. This is a partnership... Details are important. People were just saying she signed to Bad Boy, but she has a toatlly different relationship with Puffy.

from the looks of things she is still the SAME artist I met a year ago. Very talented, creative, smart, and aware. Those artists looked to Mr Busy Body Diddy to develop their careers, which a no no. She already has a team and fanbase and will continue to press on. He is a dick, but he respects them. Big boi is involved too I heard.

August 12th Janelle Monae in stores!

Freakin hillarious. Who is this cat speaking the truth? Loved it!

lol...absolutely hilarious. Sad but very true. I didn't realize how many Bad Boy artists have completely disappeared.

I think Diddy is looking at other areas to make money other than the label (like his tv production side). He is a smart dude.

I wish Janelle Monae luck. She has so much talent. I was really concerned when I heard she signed with Bad Boy.

Ohmydamn. Well if that didnt make me guffaw out loud...everything he said is the truth. The only thing that he does well nowadays, has nothing to do with music. Did anyone notice how on the BET awards, when Lauern London mentioned his accomplishments during the past year, he barely got any applause. ? lol

His reality tv shows have me hooked, but I can deal without everything else he gives to the world.

The other comedian's nombre es Godfreid I believe...

This is pure comedy.
He has spoken the truth. The Lox, Total, etc. I especially remember the The Lox saga.. and how they wanted their money back..

And isn't that comedian in the restaurant with him? What's his name? He is Nigerian-American...

On a serious note, Diddy, I think, is not a good manager. He has an eye for talent and the man has been behind some hits but has not been able to provide sustainable careers. Quite shameful.

LOL @ "Dream", "I don't write rhymes, I write rhymes" and "People bootleg Ray-J but they don't mean too"!

THAT THERE!!! MADE MY DAY..LMAO!!! What does dude have against Ray J? LOL Truth of the matter is yes Puffy drains you of all life and leaves nothing.

Tru...Tru... funny and Tru...

Mad funny:) but sometimes the truth IS the thruth. Every artist except for Big who was associated with Puffy are M.I.A. Puffy is the anti-christ and needs to be destroyed:) ask Kim Porter if you dont believe me..................

I've seen this and it's sad, true and hilarious at times! There was one part he was talking about Cheri Dennis and switch to talking about Ray-J that made me burst out laughing in the office HAHA I had to rewind that shyyyt!
