SoulBouncers, I love to dance*. Almost as much as I've loved following this year's presidential race, what with the ups and downs, the dips and dives, and with politicians from both camps so adept at dancing around the issues (ZING!). All of that makes for exciting times, no? So imagine my delight when I received a link in my inbox touting the "unofficial" Obama Dance. I couldn't click on it fast enough. Especially after seeing this a few months ago. And when I saw dude's name, I got extra excited figuring I'd see something innovative straight out of the early '90s. Um, notsomuch. The dance is brought to us by the aspiring rapper actor talk show host Bob Brown of the ObamaTalkDaily YouTube channel, a well-intentioned chap who brings relevant issues to the forefront through his site. Kudos for that. But as for the dance? Hellous nous. It's a boring two-step that made my side-eye dance furiously in order to keep it from closing due to boredom. Seriously, the whole thing is "two steps to the left ... two steps to the right ... " My dog does more steps while waiting for me to pour his kibbles n' bits. I mean, come on, even Cupid got a shuffle. Harlem got a shake. Couldn't we get the "Obama Mambo"? Or, if you wanna keep it urban, what about the "Barack Bus Stop"?!?!? This is just unacceptable. My favorite part is when he tries to "spice things up" by adding a jump and a dip. Yeah, no. The joke that should go here is that we call this one the "NO-bama Dance." Or, that we file it under "No, We Can't." But I won't go there. This time. However, for better dances, check out this clip, and this one. Ain't nothing like the real thing.
