Nikka Costa Wants To Be 'Stuck To You'

Much discussion has been generated over the role our non-Black brethren and sistren have in soul music as artists on SoulBounce lately. Just thought I'd throw this tidbit out there before I progress to tell you about one of soul music's most promising artists of the late '90s, Nikka Costa, who is of the Caucasian persuasion. Since heralding her return with her upcoming Pebble To A Pearl with a track leaked last month, it's nice to see that Nikka hasn't gone the route of other artists on the perennial pushed-back-album train. The video for her new release "Stuck On You' is below. While the video is stylized very well, the track seems to be a bit underwhelming in a way that the visuals cannot make up for. But that's just my opinion. All in all, Nikka's voice is much welcomed and is a nice reminder that soul music is all around you. You just have to know where to look. I love Nikka and while she isnt screaming at you from the jump like most of her songs it's still not a bad song. I plan on seeing her in October and can't wait!!!!

Nikka's gotta make them coins, and going so-so pop is the way to do it. I closed my eyes and could picture this being the theme song for a TV show. It's safe. And if it's her first single, it'll work because it's not the Nikka her real fans know.

I love Nikka. Have all her albums. Agree with you that this song is just so-so, but I love her voice and will support her.

Ah, it's cute. But I kinda miss the grit of the earlier Nikka. I hope the new album has at least some of that.

Awesome visuals. I'm actually digging the song.
