Barack Obama Appears on '106th & Park', Devil Laughs Heartily
So... You gotta hand it to Sen. Barack Obama. When this man says "change," dammit he means CHANGE. It is because of him that the audience and hosts of BET's 106th & Park didn't make me want to cringe in shame when he appeared on the show via satellite. They asked pretty darn good questions. And Obama (who, if he's aware of this network's reputation didn't let on) engaged with the young hosts much in the same way that he would a Katie Curic or a Tom Brokaw. He respects everyone. He doesn't say condescending things like "This is probably the first time you've heard of Fannie Mae." (Speaking of which, are they also going to have McCain on here? You know, the whole "equal time" thing?) Obama eventually jetted once he realized what the hell he was doing.

Well Nate in case you weren't aware the RNC is also funding McCain's run and they last reported $96M. If Obama hadn't opted out he would've run out of money. Not to mention the 527s, PACs and the Rodeo Queen's private jet, staff and personal fortune at McCain's disposal. The man wears shoes that have holes in them compared to the $525 shoes of McCain's. Ok?! Obama is very frugal. Too frugal for my taste but at least I didn't find out my donations had gone towards a $150K wardrobe, $13K makeup and still undisclosed hairstyling costs. Let's get real here.

I think this website sums up my feelings on your latest rant, which you are totally entitled to make, rather well: http://www.fuckjohnmccain.com/
It's a long read, but it's well worth it for anyone who wants to read about the real John McCain and make an informed decision come November 4th.
Butta | October 21, 2008 5:28 PM | PermalinkI was hesitant to watch this since they usually ask not-so-logical-or-smart questions, but I was plesantly surprised!
Bree | October 21, 2008 3:49 PM | PermalinkSee... this is the ish I'm talking about. This is just plain unfair. Barack Obama agreed with McCain to take public funds for his campaign, but Obama turned his back at the last second. So now he has probably four times the amount of money to support his campaign than his opponent, and this is how he is spending it: 8 minute blocks on 106 & Park full of highly impressionable youth and 30 minute segments before major league baseball games that are broadcasted nation-wide, not to mention his onslaught of campaign ads. As if the hip hop community, Hollywood, and the liberal media weren't giving him enough shine.
If he really cared about the homeless, the low class, and the less fortunate, he would donate the huge excess of money he got from private campaign funding to them. But instead he is wasting it on luxuries that no presidential candidate should have. So much for a fair campaign!
Nate | October 21, 2008 3:47 PM | PermalinkThanks for posting. i don't watch 106 & Park, so I missed this. It was smart of him to speak directly to a young audience and the young lady who had a chance to ask a question asked a good one.
DLS77 | October 21, 2008 1:40 PM | PermalinkI happen to see this episode yesterday, during which time Rocsi stated McCain appearance has been requested since March however he has continuously declined.
thx 4 the post.
