Jazmine Sullivan Does Some Damage in 'Bust Your Windows' Video
Jazmine Sullivan's second single is for the incendiary tune "Bust Your Windows," which we loved at first listen here at SBHQ, and after seeing the accompanying video, the feeling is more of the same. The video could have gone in a totally different direction, but I like this subtle approach that the director took. Jazmine's rage manifests itself on her beau's artwork, expensive watches, wine cellar and vinyl collection after she finds some suspect undergarments in the bed that they just slept in. (Eww!) Although her man's car is easily accessible in his garage while he's away at work, we never actually see Jazzy bust any car windows. It isn't until her man -- who is clearly now her ex -- comes home to find a trail of broken car glass in his house leading to the incriminating thong that we surmise that windows were in fact busted. Sucks to be him. Especially since Jazmine is looking rather lovely in this video. Let this be a lesson, fellas.Tags: jazmine sullivan

Was always a fan of the song, I'm feeling the video, they could have styled my baby gurl better than that tho, but she is still looking great. I ain't gon lie, at one point i thought the video was goin to end with it being a misunderstanding, and the dude had got her the panties as a gift or something, that would been funny...
Jamaicanbwoydre | October 9, 2008 12:19 PM | PermalinkI can take or leave Beyonce's new singles. Not overly impressed with either to be truthful.
BUT THIS SONG RIGHT HERE!!!!!! WooooH!! I'm definitely buying this album. DEFINITELY. I hadn't planned on buying anything but Maxwell's new record, but this sista right here? HELL YES!
Madame Z | October 9, 2008 10:06 AM | Permalinkmy favorite song from the CD! Great video, Jazmine is Amazing!
Missa | October 8, 2008 11:07 PM | PermalinkI love me some Jazmine and this song has been in heavy rotation but this video is a hott, uninspired, low-budget, unimaginative, anti-climactic, wtf is up with her styling & hair, click the "x" mess.
Sho | October 8, 2008 6:18 PM | PermalinkLOL... y'all know that I love Beyonce to death and I think B'Day is a classic (don't care what anyone else says), but those new singles are a hot mess, especially "If I Were A Boy." It sounds like a mix between a Leann Rimes song and "Big Girls Don't Cry." It is straight up white folks music and it makes me want to rip my eardrums out. Her vocals are beautiful on it, but it can't save it. "Single Ladies" is much better, albeit a bit directionless.
Anyways, I like the Jazmine video. I like that at the end, everything in taken by and she realizes that the instant gratification of breaking everything in sight doesn't heal a broken heart.
Nate | October 8, 2008 4:50 PM | Permalink@Viv: Those new B tracks are, umm, something else aren't they?
nOvaMatichahahaha Vivrant Thang. both of those singles can totally get tossed down a flight of stairs.
dar | October 8, 2008 3:28 PM | Permalinki like that the video took a subtler approach. to actually show her smashing up the ride (yes Prince, the ride) would have been too predictable, easy, not to mention tacky. Jazzy is so damn fine. i wouldn't cheat on her if other girls were handing it to me on a silver platter for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
dar | October 8, 2008 3:24 PM | PermalinkLOVE. IT.
Damn the car. She didn't have to do that wax like that though.
Oh it was Beyonce's new single? Carry on.
