NWA is 'Most Dangerous' in New VH1 Doc

Ruthless4Life.jpgPossibly the worst thing to come as a result of N.W.A.'s tenure in the game was the term "Gangsta Rap," which to this day is used to define a genre of reprehensible Hip Hop that isn't very "gangsta" at all. I mean, it's hard to take someone seriously when they are depicting the "harsh realities of the streets" filtered through the bottom of a champagne flute, or constantly peppering their lyrics with lines from Martin Scorsese films. N.W.A. was pissed off; there's nothing glamorous about that. And despite the themes and language they presented, drawing the ire of the FBI among others, they are one of the most important and influential Hip Hop acts ever. VH1's Rock Docs takes a look at this phenomenon with NWA: The Most Dangerous Group. It is narrated by Chris Rock (O RLY?) and features interviews with John Singleton, Ice T and Ice Cube -- who I hope goes into explicit detail over his eventual, highly entertaining beef with the remaining members of the group after he went solo. The documentary premieres this Friday, 10/3, at 11 PM. [HHDX]

I love you Eazy R.I.P

Absolutely! Amerikkka's Most Wanted was bananas cause Cube was def fired up!

@TiP: It made for some of the best music of Ice Cube's career. lol. I mean, when rappers had a LEGIT reason to be mad and put it in song, it was off the chain.

Nova surely you know that the beef had to do with money, that Jerry Heller and Easy were skimming from the rest of the goup. Or do you think there is more to the story? If so you might be right.

Why side-eye Chris? CB4 *was* a gripping dramatization of the NWA story, wasn't it?
