T-Pain Vs. The Vocoder
We have let our voices be heard regarding the Auto-Tunization of the R&B industry. Sure a little sprinkle of Auto-Tune on Snoop's "Sensual Seduction" played into the whole throwback '80s-sound the song was emulating. But after Kanye's use of Auto-Tune on "Love Lockdown," as much as I personally liked it live, you had to admit that this sound had infiltrated too many aspects of our daily life. So let's give T-Pain a moderate amounts of props for not only admitting his blame for relying a bit too much on the vocoder, but for poking fun at himself for doing so. In the video below, T-Pain has a bit of a showdown with a vocoder. T-Pain wants to rely on his own singing skills (does he have any?) much to the chagrin of the vocoder. Maybe this clip demonstrates the daily battle between artists and vocoder machines around the globe and why popular R&B singers seem to no longer sing on their own anymore. Make sure you wear some headphones at work since some of this clip is NSFW. [H/T:HHDX]Tags: auto-tune, auto-tune is the devil, kanye west, snoop dogg, t-pain
