The Interwebs
Common Is Now One Of Us
A blogger that is. That's right party people, Common has joined the legion of millions in the wild and wacky world of blogging. He's the latest of a growing number of hip hop and soul artists to get down with the get down and create an online presence. Needless to say, this is long overdue. It's surprising that it took him this long to join his partner in rhyme Kanye West who's been acting the fool holding it down on the big bad net for almost a year now. Com's blog just launched yesterday, and it's so far so interesting. All of the content appears to have been created by Mr. Lynn himself, but you never know when it comes to celeb blogs. (Right, Ye?) If he's is able to keep this up, then this looks likes it's gonna be a worthy addition to everyone's blogrolls. Check out Common's first vlog below where he introduces his Think Common website and blog and explains why he finally decided to break down and do this. He's a little amped. And so are we.

Translation: A Common blog would have been great - 8 years ago. Common admitting that he doesn't use the internet makes me think is also allowing some accountant and lawyer (read Jewish guys) decide how much (or little) he will actually have in the bank in 20 years. Lastly, I have a really country (not good Country, bad County) auntie named Sally Mae. She's an idiot. But she officially sounds twice as smart as Common. This is scarey. I need to sleep on it and hope it feels better in the morning.

Ah, yes. Let the insults of the reader begin.
Y'know what? I'm gonna avoid the infantile name games. 'Butta' would be too easy a target, and gettin' down like that would be soooo circa '97 AOL chatroom.
Any-fuckin'-way, I do indeed agree that Kanye was relevant to the text. And it is actually surprising that Common needs to get a late pass on the blog front. No argument there.
My argument, to clarify, wasn't even so much motivated by your actual digs (lightweight as they were). It was meant as an overall remark on the the constant digs at Kanye on Soulbounce.
I mean, you do read the other posts by ya peeps, right?
That's said, your 'truthful' digs were more like the straw that broke the camel's back. This is why I didn't single you out by name (Butta), and laid out my indictment against the bloggers on Soulbounce. Aiight?
And to be clear, the comparison that I made wasn't based on what you wrote. It was based on all the shit I read on Soulbounce in the way of the seemingly unified front against the target in question. So I stand by it as a reader on the outside looking in.
Hell, as I think about it, didn't Novamatic make a statement about this same subject a week or two ago? I wasn't even involved in that lil' fracas, but apparently others have also had beef about all the Haterade⢠being poured. (Talk about 'make it rain.')
Lastly, Butta, devoid of all other context, I can freely admit that what chu said wasn't bad at all. I can also see it in the 'fun' way it was meant when it isn't encumbered by all the other digs.
Now, about that life waiting for me over 'dere in the corner...

Nothing that I said about Kanye was untrue, so get over yourself please and thank you.
Kanye is relevant in the context of this piece about Common because they are tight like glue and it's surprising that Common just now decided to hop online seeing that his boy has such a phenomenal web presence.
As far as the jabs that I may have taken at Kanye, he has been acting the fool online on numerous well-documented occasions and the authoring of his blog has also come into question numerous times as well. It's not like I sat up here and made up some stuff tombout Kanye was the next pregnant man or some ish. I mean, really. It wasn't that deep, son.
Comparing what I wrote to the pre-election Republican messiness? You sound like a straight clown. That argument holds as much water as a thimble.
This was all in fun, but you took stuff to another, totally unnecessary level. See that life over there in the corner? Please go get it.
Next time you want to talk shit in the comments please don't bring a knife to a gun battle.
What?

Even readin' content about other artists by another blogger on Soulbounce there are the ever present (and distractin') digs at Kanye West.
It kinda reminds me of the way McCain, Palin, Giuliani, Lieberman and other ReThuglicans were always taking shots at the democratic Presidential nom.
Or better yet, the way 'conservative' talk show hosts like Beck and Hannity continually go after whoever they're targeting with their electronic lynch party. (I know, fightin' words, right?)
But seriously. If we have to tear down anyone, isn't there some ignorant, misogynistic rapper who is an embarrassment to the human race in general -- and black folks specifically -- that might make a better target of all this seemingly irrational ire?
I mean, fah real. I'm startin' the think that Kanye screwed all the bloggers on Soulbounce (male and female), and didn't call the day after.
What.
