Umm... you need to correct her age. According to news reports, she was 77, not 88. Heads up!

This woman was a champion in uplifting the masses in her music and enlightenment. Ms. Odetta along with Nina, Lette, Mariam, Alice (Coltrane), Dorothy (Ashby) set the tone for a level of spiritual light that left an impact on the world. Rest Well Ms. Odetta.
