Raheem DeVaughn Brings Bass 'Back'
After that last unsavory track from Raheem DeVaughn, I was all ready for this new joint to be more of the lame. But surprisingly enough, "Bring It Back" is mad decent. Now, the song did start off a tad sketchy with Rah saying "She like to feel me in her body like the 808," but once the bass dropped in that line made total sense. The bass on the track is ill, which is what appealed to me the most. What can I say, I grew up in the land of Luke. You can take the girl out of South Florida, but you can't take the South Florida out of the girl. Sorry for the tangent, but all that to say that if you love a healthy dose of boom in your R&B music, then you'll probably love this one. Yes, Raheem is still singing about love after the club, but he's channeling a little Marvin Gaye this time around instead of T-Pain. Thank God.

jazzie j | December 29, 2008 6:21 PM | Permalinkregardless of his autotune or anybodies auto tune,it doesn't take away from his talent. I think he's a really passionate writer and singer. Ya know, everybody is not gonna like everything. its cool to like somethings and not others. Yea I feel you though m1c7, I love Syleena Johnson. Her new album comes out on itunes december 23. I am gonna buy it then, cuz it's doesnt come out until jan 13 and that is too long for me to wait!! I just love her voice. It's so different from the tick tack mess that is out now. I can always depend on her for good singing with Great lyrics!

Raheem DeVaughn | December 16, 2008 4:54 PM | PermalinkOk, so I have listened to this back to back to back... yes 3 times; LOVE IT! It's definitely a club banger. "stoneyisland" is a hater!
me | December 16, 2008 3:15 PM | PermalinkI like the track! Its a club banger I can see it being played on the radio and the club. I don't know about a video though. I do agree that I like his old quality of music, I'am anticipating the Love and War Masterpeace project that is scheduled to drop 3/09. I don't know how many more tracks with TPain I can take though. I will continue to support him!
Music Lover | December 16, 2008 2:04 PM | PermalinkI must say for "popular music" this track will be great....but hmm from Raheem I expect more...this seems to be the same bs I hear on the radio everyday.....I want the old quality Raheem Devaughn back.... sorry can't say I'm feeling this track from Raheem......I dealt with the T-Pain track, Text Messages, and Customer...but okay ENOUGH!!!!!
LadyLuckDC | December 16, 2008 11:54 AM | PermalinkI'm diggin the track. I'm a Raheem fan. I love him and his music, there isn't an artist that can satisfy all their fans 100% but consider me satisfied. Love Behind the Melody was a great album, and still gets as much play as The Love Experience and some other unreleased tracks. keep doing what you do, boo!
Reecie | December 16, 2008 9:50 AM | PermalinkI love Raheem...I seen him in Chicago a couple of times and great performance...I would like to see him work with one of my favorite artist Syleena Johnson...I just pre-ordered her album Chapter 4: Labor Pains from www.amazon.com and can't wait to hear it...you should do the same!
m1c7 | December 16, 2008 1:24 AM | PermalinkFocus on the good??!? damn all that if I am spending my hard earned cash on a artist I demand that he or she bring the heat 90% of the time. Raheem seems to be trying to do whatever is popular at the moment. I guess his next song will be a auto tune joint, Dude just does not seem hungry anymore and until he drops his signature sound again, I aint messing with the cat. I hope he's not going through what I like to call the R. Kelly stage (dude trying to act like he's 19 when he's 30 or above) Come on Ra, you can do better.
stoneyisland | December 16, 2008 12:34 AM | PermalinkDamn, will y'all stop bitchin' about Raheem's track with T-Pain or whoever?!?! Fuck. Aside from that "Unsavory track" the man's put out some great material. Why do you insist on dwelling on the one or two songs you didn't like, as if he put out a whole album that was some bunk. Get over it and focus on whatever good shit he's come out with this time around!
