Darien 'Can't Hide' This Good Music
It goes without saying that 2008 was a good year for Darien. His standout selections from Reel People's Seven Ways To Wonder had people from D.C. to Dubai taking notice of his vocal and songwriting talent. And 2009 is looking to be just as fruitful with the release of his debut album, If These Walls Could Talk, on the horizon and more features on tap such as this smoking new collaboration with Soulpersona. "Can't Hide" can be found on the DigiSoul presents Soulpersona and Jackanory EP, and it's the perfect follow up to the work he did with those other Brits. I don't know what is in the water in the UK but the productions from across the pond are consistently funky and solidly soulful. Darien invokes Off the Wall-era Michael Jackson on this six minute slice of heaven. If you're in NYC on February 6th, then do yourself a favor and check him out when he performs at the legendary Blue Note. But until then, get into this right now.

I've had the pleasure of having Darien perform last year at our bi-weekly event in NJ called ThinkSoul and he brought the house down...He's an awesome talent...This tune, "Can't Hide", to me, is a smoker...a great mid tempo soul stomper...and his delivers the song so effortlessly...I would expect nothing less from him.
