Bottom line....Mathew Knowles is Beyonce's father not Kelly's and as much as he would like to be an unbiased manager, he is always going to think of his daughters first. There really isnt any artist that he represents that is as successful as his daughters and I'm pretty sure it will stay that way. As for Michelle, she should really stick to gospel because that is what sets her apart. I've purchase every single gospel album she put out but I probably will not get her latest effort.

Finally!! Good luck to Kelly, she deserves success of her own and she wasn't going to receive the promotion she deserves with Bey's father in tow, he would always put his baby first and halt promo on others. He had compromised interests in Kelly's and Michelle's careers.

Hopefull now Michelle will walk to another management team, her album deserved so mcuh better, she's a very artist in her own right. His ideas are always gonna be compromised cos his loyalties remain with his family, but if you're going to a manager you need to support all of your acts and both Michelle and Kelly have hardly seen any money spent on them like Bey has. Maybe it's a good thing that they seeked management elsewhere.

J Que, Rich Harrison, Rodney Jerkins, Robin Thicke, Sean Garrett, Scott Storch, Powlow da Don Star Gate, J.R. Rotem , Tank…. These are “D” list producers and writer? Hell no. She got the best of the best (at the time). Even got a “do over” when the first “version” of the album did not live up to her expectations. Not to mention a re-released “deluxe edition’ of her album just like, Chris Brown, Rhianna and B. This alnum flopped because NO ONE CARED.

Who is preventing Kelly from spreading her wings? She was able to "spread her wings" on the first album and go far left field with the "R&B alternative" sound. He gave her the leeway to choose who she wanted to work with as far as producers and writers on the second album. Co-Signed and allowed her to hop on hip hop hooks (Nelly) and I can say that I was always aware that she had a new album coming out. So her promotion I'm sure was at least in line with the economic realities of today’s music industry. Why on earth would Matthew invest his time, money and effort into an artist to set her up to fail? That makes HIM and HIS business prowess look bad. Do you think him and Beyonce are sitting in a room, celebrating that Kelly last 2 albums flopped? After he paid thousands of dollars for studio time, producers, songwriters, and sent her all over the world to promote the damn thing? The fact is she's not that great of a singer or entertainer. AND Beyonce with all her faults carried DC for the entire run.

On Ms. Jackson

Janet was still being managed by her father during the making and creation of Control. He was apprehensive at first but eventually allowed her to go and work with Jam and Lewis. Their phenomenal songwriting, production, and Janet’s last name had more to do with her success on that particular album than any "breaking away from Joe". (Not to take anything away from her as, her voice sounded great on “Lets Waite a while”, and she can dance her ass off)

If no one is necessarily saying that "its Matthews fault" than why is it that most people on the "internets" seems to make him out to be the villain? Maybe she’s just a mediocre artist and the consumers aren’t buying her records because they don’t care !

Yea, I'll admit that some unsavory things came to light about his character when the Luckett/Latavia sob stories came out. But they were in the wrong too, and can’t the same be said about most if not all label owner/ managers? This business is not pretty.

These girls need to get a clue! They get paired up with D-list songwriters, (I'm sorry having Solage write or co-write almost every song on your album so papa Knowles gets more in the bank is unacceptable) while Beyonce gets the best money can buy. Their solo projects have not been that good. Kelly needs to totally flip it and maybe do some work Timbaland or Jermaine Dupri, some producer that Beyonce hasn't worked with so she can establish a sound. I'm happy she is free and will have no more albums produced by Solange (and yes I have heard Sol-Angel and it ain't that great)

I thought Michelle would be the 1st but im glad Kelly woke the eff up. People can say what they want but he puts more into B and Solange and it's more than obvious. THey love her in Europe go fig so maybe she can finally get some repect here. HEll LEtoya Lucketts album did better than both of Kelly's combined.

It's about time she stepped out on her own. As long as Matthew was running her career, she'd always be treated like a second class citizen.

O the sarcasm...Mutadar. But hear is the thing that always bothered me, there is one thing that Kelly has on Beyounce hands down.......PERSONALITY! Off the stage Beyonce has as much personality and charisma as a brick. But Kelly has a wonderful personality! In the few interviews I did catch when she was promoting her album I found her to be absolutely delightful. It would have been nice if she could have showcased that personality the same way her "sister" did, you know own Oprah, Ellen, and Tyra. Anywho just my opinion.

i don't think anyone (even Kelly herself) is necessarily saying it is Mathew Knowles' fault. *scrolls down* well, maybe some are. but more importantly, it has been time for Kelly to spread her wings. i think she should have done that after the first album. i have four words for the one nonbeliever here: Joe and Janet Jackson. sometimes you have to break away and find your own path. Janet escaped the rule of her dad/manager after two poorly performing records (and she's a Jackson!) only to explode in 1986. so people shouldn't immediately write Kelly Rowland off. i hope she finds the success she deserves.

Good luck Kelly. I'm glad you finally woke up and smelled the record sells. Let Mattew pimp his daughters and stop pimping you.

Good for Kelly! Now she can find some mgt. and producers that will nurture her. She's a talented young lady and I'm glad she's seen the light. Matthew Knowles is about Beyonce. Period.

Great !!! Now she'll become the great solo pop star that she was destined to be. Now that she's gotten rid of that mean old Matthew Knowles. Everyone knows she's such a great singer and artists.... Yep, now that Knowles is out of the way she'll be rivaling Beyonce and Rhiana on the charts in no time.... We all bought Destiny Child albums to listen to Kelly's voice... right ? I'm sure Matthew was blocking the door at local record stores and not allowing people to purchase her CD's. He was surely popping up on their computer screens to prevent them from downloading her songs from I-Tunes.. I mean he only made her millions of dollars and basically took care of her since she was a child. He only invested thousands of dollars of his own money to launch another female girl group in 1998... When there was a HUGE shortage of female groups.... Now that she's not with Knowles anymore, that's my signal to go out and purchase her last two CD's.. Who were chalked full of virtually the same producers and writers Beyonce used on her own HIT records. But Its Matthews fault !

I'm so glad Kelly got from up under the Knowles clan. Hopefully she can really pop off this time.
