Morning Soul
Morning Soul: Looks Like Its Gonna Rain
- Following in the legendary footsteps of Dionne Warwick, Vivica A. Fox is spokesperson for the new and improved Psychic Friends Network. I really don't know what to say, ya'll. [DL]
- Brandy: "I really try not to focus on the sales or chart position anymore." [TGJ]
- Diddy blames the state of Hip Hop on DJs not being DJs anymore. Again, I'm at a loss for words. [HHDX]
- The Roots, Nas and more remix and re-imagine some classic Nat King Cole cuts. [OKP]
- Check out the alternative cover to VIBE's style issue and come crashing back to reality. [VIBE]

to step away from the Vivica drama for a moment, i was rather skeptical of the Nat King Cole remix project, but the four songs i've heard so far are in heavy rotation on my mp3 player. cee-lo taking on "lush life", cut chemist with an outstanding job on "day in, day out", amp fiddler with a mad soulful rework of "anytime, anyday, anywhere"...this is a remix project that's done right. can't wait to hear this in its entirety.

Couldn't she ask Tyler Perry to put her on one of his shows? or start doing the Black theatre circuit plays (they still rake in a lot of money)? I'm common on, sis...how do you come back from the Psychic Friends?

Soulrific | February 3, 2009 11:01 AM | PermalinkI so agree with you regarding the VIBE cover. I love the clean, forward-thinking version versus that cluttered mess. I can hardly read VIBE anymore, in part, because of its tabloid layout. Not only has the content dumbed down, but for the most part, so have the graphics and page layout.
