Wu-Tang's Heavy Hitters Are 'Back From The Slums'
The news of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 fell upon my ears with much ambivalence. The original masterpiece a/k/a "The Raekwon and Ghostface Killah Show" was an album that became an instant classic, and is like opening up a time capsule of what grimy, hungry Hip Hop used to be. Despite Wu-Tang Clan not exactly experiencing lean times, Raekwon, Ghostface, and Method Man are able to channel a hunger not often witnessed these days with "Back From The Slums," especially from these lyricists who really have nothing else to prove to their peers. While I am more than a bit biased towards Ghost who infuses the track with a manic energy, Raekwon does nicely, and Meth delivers the hook and his own verse with aplomb. It's too immature for me to be excited about what's to come, but if it's anything like this, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 should be bad---as in good.

If he comes back with the same raps he was kicking ten years ago, he isnt gonna move units. Ghost and Cappadonna are the only cats from the Wu who I still support.
