Monica is continuing to impress with her recent material. A few months ago the track "One In A Lifetime" leaked and folks were feeling it as it signaled a return to the Monica of old, free of trends and musical gimmickry. Now another new tune has surfaced, which is another winner along those same lines. "Taxi" finds Monica trying to convince her guy that money isn't everything in their relationship and that all she wants is his love. In these fiscally lean times, the song is on point lyrically and most importantly Monica sounds great here even as she's telling her man that she's about to hit the road if he doesn't get some Act Right. There's still no word on when her new album is coming, but if she keeps cranking out songs like this then it may just be worth the wait.
