For those of you that didn't "obtain" Q-Tip's Kamaal The Abstract after Arista's non-release, you're in for a treat. The album will finally, officially, be released September 15th of this year. History tells us the album was shelved due to it not being commercial enough, and although that raises the ire of fans, that's pretty solid reasoning on the part of the label. It's a dope album, from start to finish, but it might have run the risk of asking too much of the masses. We suppose the notable success of The Renaissance had something to do with this, and we couldn't be happier. It's worth noting that Kamaal is being released by Battery Records, who also brought us such moving and celebrated classics as "Stanky Legg" and "Booty Dew."
