Co. Fee Sends Erykah Badu's 'Soldier' On A Second Tour
During this frustratingly long interim between New Amerykah: Vol. 1 and its follow-ups Vols. 2 and 3, it's a relief to know that people are still remixing tracks from 2008's musical blessing from Erykah Badu. As this nice remix of "Soldier" by Co. fee (from the collective My Hollow Drum) proves, Badu is the gift that keeps giving. Co. fee gives the song a nice treatment, tightening up the length just a little and interjecting percussive elements that give the track a refreshing kick. It's absolutely worth a listen not just because it's a good remix but because it helps tide us over until we get some more new Badu. [H/T: YYY]

Not feelin this remix. Vocal timing could've been matched better to the track....

SAD! SAD! SAD!
hidaya | August 20, 2009 3:41 PM | Permalinkmusical blessing from Erykah Badu????? WTF where you listening too? I cant seriously think of the name of one song from that bowel movement she called an album. As for the "frustratingly long interim between New Amerykah: Vol. 1 and its follow-ups Vols. 2 and 3", I would be willing to bet my hard earned cash money that, Ms. Badu will have another baby by another rapper before she releases vol. 1, 2 and 3. With all the talented sisters putting in work, putting out albums I have no idea why SB keep riding Ms. Badu's jock. N'Dambi, Teedra, Jazzmine to name a few are WAAAAAAY more talented then head wrap wearing slightly crazy Ms. Badu. If any of you Badu fans really and I mean REALLY care about the sister, send her some birth control:)
