Is This What We've 'Been Waiting For' From Brian McKnight?
Brian McKnight has been one of the most consistent R&B cats in the game. His career has had its peaks and valleys, but this brotha still has it. Just take a listen to the first single from his upcoming album Evolution of a Man and hear for yourself. In "What I've Been Waiting For" McKnight stays comfortably in his lover man lane and doesn't stray from what we've become used to hearing from him--which is a good thing. With this new album dropping in October and his new late night talk show hitting the airwaves, this is gearing up to be a busy Fall for McKnight. It's good to see him back, not that he ever really left.

Well I wouldn't say he's "lost it" but this is a man that put out brilliant music. His songwriting muse seems to have failed him. And his music composition is definitely not where it used to be. He seems stuck in some kind of purgatory production-wise. I don't know who's doing his production, but I don't like his synth/keys choices as of late. It would be too cliche to say that he should just get back in touch with the piano and he. But he seems caught between that Seal type of popular yearning and the Top 100 R&B type material.
I need him back in a big way. Butta any word on who he's working with on the current production?
