Ghostface & Raheem On 'Late Night'? Oh, 'Baby'!
Not since the heyday of Arsenio Hall have hip-hop artists gotten this much exposure, with both Jimmys (Fallon and Kimmel) leading the way in providing access to late night, mainstream audiences. Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.has been especially generous, and definitely has the upper hand when it comes to booking major talent due to their proverbial ace in the hole and house band, The Roots. Any artists that ever wanted to work with the Legendary Philly collective needs to look no further than midtown Manhattan now. Case in point, last night Wu-Tang family member Ghostface Killah (not sure you'd see him on at 11:30 with Conan or Letterman), accompanied by Raheem DeVaughn, graced the 30 Rock stage performing "Baby," the track from Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry. Good stuff. The clip is below.

Ghost better drop the album version of "Baby". The sampler version is a mess. This version is the s$%t! The John Legend joint isn't crippled by Autotune. He should have done the same with this one.

Ms Pinky | September 17, 2009 2:54 PM | PermalinkI hated this song when I first it. And with respect to the original, I still do. But subtracting the Auto-Tune and adding The Roots' instrumentation is pure win.
Ghost really is bringing grown & sexy back to Hip Hop. Thank God.
