Melanie Fiona 'Kills' In Her Latest Video

I love music videos that aren't what they seem. Ones where you might think the director is telling the story based strictly on the song lyrics, but then, they don't. That, along with the singer herself (lawdie!), is what I loved about the latest video from Canadian cutie and SoulBounce fave Melanie Fiona, as she serves up a killer clip with "It Kills Me." The track, a follow-up to the single "Give It To Me Right," is a gorgeous ballad about a woman who's all torn up as to whether to stay in a relationship that's clearly not good for her. Cut to the video, with its arid backdrop, and shows Melanie getting out of (her boyfriend in the clip) Adam Rodriguez's car. We may think that she's finally seen the light. That it was time for her to go. Then the video, directed by Armen Djerrahian, flips on us. In ways you literally don't see coming right away. Peep it below and let us know what you think. The Bridge is in stores this fall.

I remember the 1st time I herd this song, her voice blew my mind!! I had to ask my 14yr old who was the artist for this song. LOVE IT!!! Melanie is doing the damn thing. I fall to sleep at night listening to this jam and thinking about the LOVE of my life.

Co-sign Lorin's Imaginings:

I'm a bit confused Harlem, you say her album is coming out this Fall, but I downloaded it a couple of months ago with the same track listings I see with her upcoming album:

1. "Give It to Me Right" – 3:43
2. "Bang Bang" - 3:28
3. "Monday Morning" - 3:38
4. "Please Don’t Go (Cry Baby)" - 3:15
5. "Ay Yo" - 3:18
6. "Walk On By" - 3:31
7. "You Stop My Heart" - 3:46
8. "Johnny" - 3:42
9. "Sad Songs" - 4:38
10. "Priceless" - 3:47
11. "It Kills Me" - 4:10
12. "Teach Him" - 4:10
13. "G.A.M." (bonus track) - 2:50

Hopefully I hope this doesn't hurt her sales. Whatever the case may be she may get a bit wider appeal over the world than Jazmine. Though the albums are similar in that they are infused with multicultural stylings. But in my humble opinion, Jazmine's album wins hands down. It just didn't seem to have the legs that Melanie's album has already had.

I just hope people know how the US industry has done and will do artists, who live and die by releases to radio still. FYI Jazmine's "Dream Big", a club banger if I've ever heard one probably didn't get a single release on any radio stations outside a few college and slight XM/Sirius leakage. But this was a top 6 song in Turkey (yeah turkey) and a Top 40 song in Greece, and also registered in Russia and the UK.
So I guess what I'm eventually getting at is timing is everything.

Video and song is dope. Just imagine if Jazmine had done something more along these lines for "LT&B."

Ok, clearly I do not know how to proofread or use an article.

She is banger!
The song is banger!
The video is banger!

That was HOTTTTT!!
