Quiet Bounce
Quiet Bounce: Let's Go Forward
I'm a little irritated right now. During times such as these, I seek out music to change my mood that is, more often than not, a reminder of my childhood. Terence Trent D'Arby's "Let's Go Forward" will forever be immortalized in my mind as" Side B, Song 1" from his The Hard Line According To...himself. This album was everyone's favorite back when it was released in 1987 and for good reason. It was, and still is, very, very good. Despite the slew of hits this album spawned, it is this song that I always play on a consistent basis and always during irritating times such as these. But now that I think about it, listening to someone with as such a strong voice as his singing about wanting to take the next step with a relationship is soothing me much more than when I first started writing this. Thank you, Terence. Or shall I say, Sananda Maitreya. For those in the know, he's still around. See for yourself here. In the meantime, I'll go forward with the rest of this day and live it in love.

kiki | November 10, 2009 8:50 PM | PermalinkI always wanted to get into TTD but didn't care for his records. However I fell in love with his A Stronger Man when mixed by Ben Watt in 2004.
anon | November 10, 2009 7:13 PM | PermalinkThanks, I had forgotten about this artist. What a treat, his voice is still beautiful and this man has aged like a fine wine!

Songboy3. I accept your chastisement. Hotness is in the ears of the hearer. I'm a TTD/SM stan. The mans work shows/showed that he is a well read musical poet with the pipes to match. I played "Undeniably" for a a vocalist girlfriend one time and she was floored.
Stoneyisland: "Let her down easy" (like others) is so well written and performed you'd think he stole it from Maya Angelou or some classic movie script.
The ONLY artists that have given me that vibe have been Lewis Taylor and early Brian Mcknight.
hoodedMonk | November 10, 2009 3:39 PM | PermalinkThis is my second favorite song, he had a song on his second Cd called "let her down easy" which quite frankly is one of the most beautiful songs ever written...........
stoneyisland | November 10, 2009 2:38 PM | Permalinkone of the best that ever did it. after he fell from the limelight he continued to rock out. this dude wasn't just slept on he was comatose-ed... on.
KIssMyBlackAds | November 10, 2009 1:59 PM | PermalinkHooded Monk got it right: This song is a mantra, a chant - more of a mood more than anything! But I disagree, also - Yes, this IS the hotness! It reminds me of a time when what you were saying was just as important as how you said. And I do like a lot of his stuff from his 'Sananda Maitreya' persona. You gotta hear 'Sweetness' or 'Shalom'. honestly, very good stuff, y'all. http://tiny.cc/FwgMN
Songboy3 | November 10, 2009 11:14 AM | PermalinkNot what you'd call "hottness" ( which he brings on many occasions. But the song is a mantra. If anything you should feature something from "Wild Card" or "Vibrator".
He is really on some other trend now though. He's just playing rock guitar in Europe like he's trying to build his chops up.
hoodedmonk | November 10, 2009 9:15 AM | PermalinkBoring................................................!!
Mr. Ed | November 10, 2009 1:58 AM | PermalinkThe brother was the sh** back in the day! honeys in Germany treated him like he was Michael jackson! he's changed his name to Sananda Francesco Maitreya, he still records but nothing like his first album, I still bang this joint in my ride....................
