Coultrain's Newness Does Not Disappoint
Artists always have clamored for the freedom to want to be themselves and not be beholden to any particular sound. Those for whom Coultrain's blend of older-sounding Soul was right up their alley may have found themselves a bit more perplexed when it came to his work with the Hawthorne Headhunters. For those of you who are more open to experimentation, feel free to dig into his latest offerings "The Wanderer" and "Balancing Act." Since getting my hands on both, I have to say that the former is my favorite so far with its free form jazzy-sounding meandering ways. Take a listen to the aptly titled "The Wanderer" below, then click here to get your hands on your own copy of his newness.

Kim Patron | January 27, 2010 5:36 PM | Permalink"The Wanderer" isn't a new track at all. It's been on Coultrain's MySpace playlist & on the old Imeem site since mid-2008. I've had it on my MP3 playlist since around that time too. Maybe its "official" release is new?
FireMadeFlesh | January 27, 2010 2:49 PM | PermalinkGlad you wrote more on this. I ADORE both the tracks I've heard and am glad he's back. Hearing him on the PPP album was great but I need all Coultrain. Adventures is STILL in constant rotation.
