Adding to the already long list of highly anticipated music this year is quirky songstress Janelle Monáe who premiered a new song from her forthcoming May release, The ArchAndroid, today. "Tightrope" walks the thin line between awesome and fantastic with Big Boi lending his rap talents to this hand-clapping, foot-stomping good time. For those who know Miss Monáe's history, Big Boi was actually the one to introduce her to the world when she was a part of his Purple Ribbon All-Stars crew with two songs on their one and only major label album, Big Boi Presents...Got Purp, Vol. 2. It's good to hear these two ATLiens on the same track again, especially one so banging. If you don't shake your shimmy or let your backbone slip to this almost five-minute Soul Funk workout, then I don't know what to say but you may want to get to the nearest emergency room.
