Is There Any 'Love' For This Mary J. Blige Led Zeppelin Cover?
Mary J. Blige may have channeled her inner diva this weekend when she allegedly cut up at the Jazz in the Gardens music festival, but now she channels her inner Rock goddess on the remake to Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." Oh, Mary Mary, this is quite contrary. This song is all over the place. It's a Euro-Dance meets '80s Rock mish-mash that is a mismatch. For the most part, Mary sounds good until she starts growling out her lyrics near the end of the track, which only makes her sound constipated. Mary could have really done something with a more soulful arrangement while maintaining the song's Rock edge. This remake is featured on the Stronger withEach Tear UK Edition along with a few other new cuts. UK, really? My Brits have way more soul and way more taste than this.

Yes the growling was a huge mistake but who's going to say "no" to MJB and would she listen anyway?

michelle | March 23, 2010 3:27 PM | PermalinkNow I can get down to some rock music, but I wasn't too fond of this.
I'm still waiting for Mary circa My Life to return to us.
